The slight leaning to authoritarianism is probably because DH opted heavily in favor of the proposition that the whoremasters of Masterchef should be hung, drawn and quartered and left to stew in their own jus.

Because why? They're willing taskmasters for hyper-capitalism. Their job is to teach the masses never to fight back against exhausting demands or question the arbitrary rulings of their masters .
